HS2

22nd November 2023

Crowland Cranes have completed the design and manufacture of 2 x 7 meter, 40t lifting beams for our clients at HS2, after initial consultation/brief from the client, our fabrication team completed the design using our SolidWorks CAD system and completed the whole manufacturing, test and painting process, at our Peterborough depot.

Both beams have gone into service to enable the installation of the first pier for the HS2, Wendover Dean Viaduct. Located south of the village of Wendover in Buckinghamshire, the 450m-long viaduct will be the first major railway bridge in the UK to be built with a ‘double composite’ structure, using significantly less carbon-intensive concrete and steel in comparison to a more traditional design.

The HS2 project has a wide range of Crowland Cranes manufactured lifting equipment and Power-Pad crane mats.
