Crowland Cranes Wireless Wind Speed System

Crowland Cranes have developed a new wireless wind speed system. See our video below.

After hours of research, testing and customer feedback, the team at Crowland have come to market with our own wireless wind speed system.

Offering our customers a choice of power supplies, the hard wired 12v-24v DC or a “C” type battery powered display, provides customers with two simple choices.

Each kit provides a very cost effective solution for wind speed monitoring for mobile cranes and other applications. No calibration or adjustments required, just remove from the box, install and go to work.

Each kit includes:

• Simple “self levelling” sensor, with magnetic mounting bracket and safety cable
• LCD display
• Fully adjustable display mounting bracket, complete with permanent dash mounting plate or quick release suction cup fixing plate
• Supplied with simple “plug and play” power cable (hard wired display only)
• Operating manual in English
• Calibration certificate

Standard key features to this system are:

• Operating range up to 1300 metres
• Quick installation time
• Minimum 12 month sensor battery life (based on 40 hours per week usage)

Power Pad ®

Our stocked sizes of the plastic pads range from 300mm x 40mm up to 1200mm x 80mm, although different sizes are available upon request.

Within the group we can also manufacture steel outrigger pads ranging from 2mtr x 1mtr x 90mm up to 4mtr x 3mtr x 330mm.

All of our pads whether they are steel or plastic are all certificated and will come with its own unique ID label stating the WLL and an individual serial number. All of the handles used on the plastic are either certified mountaineering rope held in with an Aluminium ferrule crimped using our 380 Tonne Press or Grade 10 Lifting Chain (WLL: 1 Tonne). The Steel pads will have certified lifting eyes as well.

We can also offer as an optional extra your company name/logo on the plastic inserts for all Pads.

Power Pad ® HD

We design and manufacture a wide range of our Steel POWER-PAD HD outrigger mats at our Crowland depot, of various sizes and capacities.

Sizes currently range from 2m (L) x 1m (W) x 90mm (H) with a 40t capacity, up to our new slim-line 4m (L) x 2.2m (W) x 172mm (H) 200t capacity.

All pads are supplied with load test certification and supporting design calculations.

Our unique self-locating lifting eye design, enables simple stacking and pack lifting solutions.

The 2m x 1m x 90mm pads only weigh 345kgs each, enabling a set of four to be transported on most 3,500kg (GVW) vehicles.

All mats are supplied painted in your corporate colours and company branded identification plates.

We also offer the following options for our complete range of steel pads:

Power Pad ® HD Lite

Our Aluminium POWER-PAD HD Lite outrigger mat is our third product completing the Power Pad range of outrigger pads. Our bespoke design enables us to manufacture a very light weight solution, with high working loads, in a variety of sizes and capacities up to 2.5m x 2.4m and 125t rating.

Our unique self-locating lifting eye design used on our Power Pad HD range, enables simple stacking and pack lifting solutions, in addition the Power Pad HD Lite product can be supplied with our new internal lifting point, enabling clients with multiple sets, to position in a modular format, proving greater ground area support.

The Power Pad HD Lite main advantage is weight saving, with 1 square meter weighing only 66kgs. For example our 2.5m x 1.6m pads only weigh 265kgs each, providing 4 square meter of ground support with a rating of 75t.

A set of four (1,060kgs) can be easily transported on most 3,500kg (GVW) vehicles or carried on the rear of a mobile crane (subject to axle loadings). The logistical cost savings made by the Power Pad HD Lite is truly amazing, significantly reducing the need for high asset investment for a HGV, eliminating HGV driver qualifications and limitations for driver hours.

The Power Pad HD Lite is to be used in conjunction with our supplied Etha-Foam, ground protection system, the foam acts firstly as a protector for the Power Pad HD Lite against uneven and hard core type surfaces, secondly provides added protection to the supporting surface e.g. Tarmac or block paved surfaces.

All pads are supplied with load test certification and supporting design calculations.

Power-Pad ® Mod Lite

• Manufactured from high grade aluminium, the profile and construction has been designed and developed by the team at Crowland
• This new module system provides a cost effective solution for quick, light setups for increased area support for your outrigger.
• Each Power-Pad plank is available in 3 lengths of Mod Lite plank:2.5m, 1.5m, 1m (L) x 400mm (W) x 80mm (H).
• Weighing a maximum of 48kgs each (2.5m x 400mm) and offers a single, complete system load rating of 60t.
• Each Power Pad Mod Lite plank is fitted with 30mm Etha-foam as standard and ‘spring flat’ handles on either end, for easy handling.
• Minimum Power-Pad Mod Lite system provides 2.4 sq. meter contact area.
• Maximum Power-Pad Mod Lite system provides 6 sq. meter contact area.
• System can be stacked, providing greater rigidity on softer, uneven ground conditions.
